We have an immediate requirement for an Accounts Assistant to provide support to the Financial and Management Accountants within our Group Finance department. This is a vital and varied role handling day- to-day work helping to deliver effective, efficient and economical services to the Group.
This role will involve assisting with management accounting activities including month-end reports, journals and close, as well as ad hoc enquiries regarding financial elements.
For the right candidate there will be the opportunity for hybrid working.
Hours:
Monday – Friday 39 hours per week, worked either:
08:00-16:30 or 08:30-17:00
Key Duties will Include:
- Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts for the Group
- Preparation of Year end accounts for the Group
- Month End journals and reconciliation for multiple companies within the Group
- VAT Reconciliation and payment, as well as making sure we have all Import documentation for the PVA & C79 statements
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as required
- Bank reconciliations
- Checking weekly and monthly payment runs
- Processing customer payments by BACS, Cheque and Cash
- Assist Group Finance Director in producing monthly turnover report
- Issue Monthly Financial Statements out to the Divisional Directors and Management Teams
- Complete ONS survey reports
- Assist in the Year End stock take
- Assist in the budget process for EFS, Projects, Machinery Imports and Holdings
The Ideal Applicant:
Ideally we are looking to recruit a candidate with demonstrable experience in a similar role, or someone who is able to demonstrate the necessary skills required below:
- AAT or PQ ACCA/CIMA would be preferred.
- Experience working with Microsoft NAV, Sage, Business Central or Ibcos Gold would be an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
