We are seeking a Group Maintenance Operative to work for our existing Group Maintenance Manager on maintenance and projects across the properties within the group.
Hours:
Full – time 39 hours per week (with some overtime / out of hours working)
Key Duties will Include:
Providing first and immediate response to issues with building fabric, services, and premises in general.
• Proactively managing projects ensuring prevention of major damage to avoid extensive costs.
• Carrying out repairs to the fabric of a building, for example: walls, doors, doorframes, skirting boards or plaster damage to internal walls
• Maintaining plumbing and drainage systems, including repairs to WC systems, leaking taps or water testing and unblocking drains
• Maintaining high levels of water hygiene within buildings
• Managing safe repair of electrical installation to legal requirements, replacing damaged sockets, plugs, lighting and fuses.
• Understanding and maintaining building plant, safety systems and equipment
• Implementing energy, environment, and sustainable practices
• Maintaining grounds and external fabrication of buildings, such as drainage and guttering
• Demonstrating the principles of Planned Preventative Maintenance
• Complying with organisational safety, policies and procedures and identifying hazards and reducing them
• Considering safety compliance across a wide range of sites
• Adhering to working at height legislation
• Preparing plans for refurbishment or deep cleans of equipment and surfaces
• Understanding the importance of customer service
• Recording and reporting of information accurately either internally or externally
The Ideal Applicant:
Qualification in a building trade
• H&S qualifications: (note – training can be provided)
• IOSH managing safety or site managers safety training scheme (SMSTS) or NEBOSH general certificate in construction (preferable).
• PASMA, cherry picker and forklift tickets (preferable, to have at least one)
• Risk assessment & Method Statements creating and review,
• Working at height
• Trailer loading lashing
