At T H WHITE, we offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits package, but it’s about more than that. Our business feels like a family, which is just how we started out – almost 200 years ago.
Our aim is to have a happy and fulfilled team and we want every team member to reach their full potential, so we provide ongoing training and development, as well as mentoring.
COMPETITIVE SALARY
We offer an attractive salary to ensure we fairly reward our team members for a job well done. We want you to stay, and grow, with us, so we benchmark our salaries every year to ensure we remain competitive in the market. And it’s not just about the salary, we also offer a great range of benefits.
ENHANCED HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT
Time off is important to allow you to relax and recharge. We offer enhanced holiday entitlement which increases the longer you’re with us. Our new team members start with an annual holiday allowance of 23.5 days, plus bank holidays. This is pro-rata’d for our part time colleagues. We then add another day of leave for each 5-years of service you complete. By the time, you’ve completed 15 years’ service with us, which many of our team do, you’ll be entitled to 26.5 days of holiday a year.
STAFF DISCOUNT
When you join us, you’ll be eligible to open a staff account which entitles you to special discounts in our Agricultural and Country Stores as well as across selected larger machinery lines.
Our Stores stock a huge range of products – including famous brand outdoor clothing and footwear, pet supplies, household and DIY goods, gardening tools and toys. It’s a great cost-saving benefit and a favourite amongst our team.
SHARE INCENTIVE PLAN
At T H WHITE, when we do well, so do our employees. We want our employees to have a real stake in our business, so we offer a share incentive plan as part of our benefits. That means we all share the same goal – to make our business as successful as possible.
Every year, a percentage of the business profits are turned into T H WHITE Holdings Ltd shares which are allocated to our employees. The Employee Share Incentive Plan is operated by T H WHITE Group and authorised by HMRC.
EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTORY PENSION
Our goal is to set our team up for a comfortable future, so we offer an attractive pension plan. The T H WHITE Group Personal Pension Plan is provided by Standard Life, an award-winning pension provider.
As long as you meet the Government’s eligibility criteria, we’ll auto enrol you in our pension scheme within three months of joining us. Even if you don’t meet the criteria, we’ll give you the option to opt into the scheme. We’ll add a company contribution at the statutory rate. If you wish to contribute more than the statutory rate you have the option to do that too.
Once you’ve been with us two years, we’ll increase our contribution up to a generous maximum of 8.5%.
SICK PAY SCHEME
If you’re unwell, we’re here to support you while you recover. We want you to focus on getting better without worrying about the financial impact of being off sick.
Our Sick Pay Scheme pays eligible team members the difference between their basic pay and any payment due from Statutory Sick Pay to ensure that you’re not out of pocket. Sick pay is subject to certain standard conditions being met.
LIFE ASSURANCE
We want to make sure that your family are provided for, should the worst happen. Our life assurance scheme gives you financial peace of mind, it pays out a lump sum to your dependents should you pass away during your employment with us.
We provide free life assurance cover for all employees up to state pension age. In your first 2 years of service with us, the cover provides a lump sum of 1.5 times your pensionable salary. Once you’ve been with us more than two years, the lump sum increases to 5 times your pensionable salary.
ENHANCED MATERNITY PLAN
As a family business, we understand just how important family is, and we want to look after our team when they decide to have children. Not least because they often end up working for us too.
We provide enhanced maternity pay to ensure you’re well supported financially during maternity leave. For the first 13 weeks, we pay 90% of your average weekly earnings. From week 13 to week 26, we then pay the lower of either the standard rate of Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) or 90% of your average weekly earnings.
FLEXIBLE WORKING
We understand the importance of good work-life balance. We’re open to supporting flexible working needs and consider options such as part-time working and job shares, dependent on the position.
If you need flexibility in your role, talk to us. We’ll work with you on a solution and do our best to accommodate your needs.
