Palfinger UK is recruiting a Workshop Team Leader for our state-of-the-art service centre in Dartford. Work directly for the manufacturer, lead a skilled workshop team and build a long-term career in management with a premium engineering brand.

Our flagship Dartford location offers a modern 13,000 sq ft engineering environment with eight workshop bays, specialist tooling and the latest manufacturer diagnostic equipment. You’ll have pride in leading from the front in a well-equipped, professional workshop environment.

Hours:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
Key Duties will Include:
This is a hands-on leadership role, with an expected split of approximately 70% productive, chargeable workshop work and 30% supervisory and leadership responsibilities, including the following:
• Leading, supporting and developing workshop technicians in the service, maintenance and repair of Palfinger and Epsilon lorry-cranes and ancillary equipment.
• Helping to plan workloads and keep jobs moving efficiently through the workshop.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and compliance across the depot.
• Supporting the Depot Manager by driving workshop revenue, cost control and profitability.
• Identify and support training needs across the team.
The Ideal Applicant:
• Proven experience in a supervisory, senior technician or leadership role within a workshop environment
• Demonstrable experience in the service and repair of cranes or similar hydraulic equipment such as forklifts, agricultural machinery, HGVs, powered access
• Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and software systems
• A recognised qualification such as NVQ or City & Guilds in Plant Maintenance, or similar
• Strong communication and positive leadership skills
This is a workshop-based role, so you’ll need to live within a reasonable commute of Dartford and be able to work on site Monday to Friday.
